Coffitivity.com is a great solution to break the silence in your office. It delivers white noise that sounds like a coffeeshop.
Main Topic
Thanks to Dale for coming on to the show. For more information about WPtouch, check out BraveNewCode.com.
Here are a few of the things that Dale and I talked about:
- What percentage of websites are being viewed on mobile?
- As a website owner, what options do they have for making their site mobile friendly?
- How does WPtouch work?
- Will it work with any theme?
- How much can you control do you have when it comes to what your site will look like while using WPtouch
- What about plugins? Will it work with other plugins?
Win a copy of WPtouch Pro 3.0!
Congrats to Scott M and Alicia Oriol for winning the free license to WPtouch Pro!

WPTouch Pro 3.0 looks like a winner! An easy way to take your site mobile.
May 1, 2013WPTouch 3.0 looks interesting, I think I will give the free version a try once it comes out, but I would definitely love to get the Pro version!
May 1, 2013I use the free version – have for years.. may have to upgrade or win a copy! 🙂
May 1, 2013I would love to have the copy. I have a website that would be awesome in a mobile format. this could be helpful
May 1, 2013I just created a responsive WordPress site. I was not pleased with the result. It looks great on the desktop, not so much on the iPad or iPhone. I really believe that you will get your best result from a site specifically designed for mobile. Your podcast comes at a perfect time as I was just contemplating how to best fix the mobile portion of my site. 🙂
May 1, 2013I would use WPTouch to make my lifestyle/beauty/fashion blog stand out in the mobile world! The design is so sleek and exactly what I am going for.
May 1, 2013If use WP TOUCH PRO for a mobile version of the sports blog I run http://www.dallassportsrant.com
May 1, 2013I would use WPTouch to make my website render beautifully no matter what device it’s viewed on.
May 1, 2013For sure I would use WPTouch to make my website more friendly for mobile users!
May 2, 2013Great topic. This is an area I need to work on because I believe Dale is right about the growth of mobile users. Sounds like this tool would be a good one to make that easy.
May 2, 2013I enjoyed listening to the podcast, and it opened my eyes to the issue of how responsive themes may be eroding your visitors’ data plans. I would love to win WPTouch Pro to make my sites more valuable to mobile users.
May 2, 2013If you have a simple blog you will be fine using WPTouch, but so you will with a responsive theme.
May 2, 2013If your site is loading something that is not needed on a mobile device, you should not have it at all. The problem is not in the responsive theme but in you having too much unnecessary stuff on your site.
If you are using WP as a CMS and have Custom Post Types, Custom Taxonomy and so on WPTouch is not for you.
If you care about branding WPTouch is not for you…
WPTouch has its use but is not the best way to do it. And defiantly not the prettiest.
Just take a look at these responsive site: http://mediaqueri.es/
And just a couple of WP responsive sites: http://www.time.com/ and http://www.michigan.org/
Keep up the good work!
May 2, 2013i would love wp touch 3
May 2, 2013To make my website wonderfull on smartphones and tablets!! 🙂
May 3, 2013I want to add a different theme to my website for MOBILE people…
May 3, 2013The logic of using this system instead of responsive is very compelling!
May 3, 2013I’ve always discounted the idea of using a plugin for this sort of thing, might be reconsidering that!
May 7, 2013Wow loving this podcast! I will need to listen to it a second time, but it’s rocking my world as I have always been a hardcore responsive design girl. So excited about this possibility.
