– Choosing themes: I spend more time finding the right theme for a project than I do actually building the person’s site. This step causes me more stress and consternation than anything. There are so many WP themes around and I worry that I’m missing the perfect one for a particular job. I’ve tried the theme choosers on various sites but they are limited and often out of date. Is there some way you can recommend a way to find the right theme on the show? Being able to narrow down theme choices would make life so much easier.
– Outsourcing: as a small business operator I don’t have the funds to contract development locally, so I use outsourcing sites to find developers overseas for a cheap hourly rate. This is hit and miss because there are many contractors competing for the business. I’ve found that often the contractor will say they are proficient at certain things, but in actual fact when you hire them they can’t do it. The big thing is some of them will try to get more money than a project is worth because they think you’re a newbie and don’t know how easy a certain job actually is, so they make it sound harder than it is. Can you recommend some way to test outsourced contractors to see if they know what they’re talking about?
