I have recently found a new tool called f.lux which is a great application for Mac, PC or Linux that controls your computer’s screen brightness. I’m loving it as it takes out the harsh blue from my computer screen in the early evenings and late nights.

- People want nitty gritty details
- Provide specific information
Checklists
- Derek Halpern has a great guide for How to Create the Perfect Blog Post
- Similar to list and how-tos, but have a sequential order to them
How to Posts
- Extremely popular, just think how many times you’ve typed into Google, “How to….”
- The more detail you can provide the better
- These posts can be videos
Interviews
- Written, audio or video
- Have a standard set of questions or mix them up on a interview basis
Infographics
Tough, you might need a graphic designer to help with this one.
Link Posts
- “The top 5 places for WordPress themes”
- “Best website to learn to make money online”
- These will be great posts early on, but make sure you keep an eye on them because posts with a lot of links can have broken links quickly
List Posts
- list25.com is a great example
- Create a list of related topics, like this podcast episode
- Generate these lists over time then they are ready when you need a post
Reviews
- Think about the last time you purchased a big ticket item. Did you try to find out everything you could about that item?
- People want to know everything before they make a purchase.
- Review a product (either one of yours, or one you really like)
Stories
- Tell a story about something personal in your life, then connect it with your business, a product, or a sales tactic
- Encourage others with obstacles you’ve over come
- People want to learn more about you.
