Question from Howard
In anticipation of moving my yahoo store, over to WordPress in June, I’’ve set up a practice site dailyspiritualmaintenance.com. I just created an email account for this site and want to install an email opt-in auto responder app. Which one do you recommend? Also, I noticed that some blogs ask customers to opt-in twice; once to become a “subscriber” and then again to receive “email updates” What’s the difference?

Double opt-in is best. With a single opt in page, anyone can submit an email address to a list to get a free offer (if a free offer is given away with a registered email address). Then when you go to send out a message to your list, you will have tons of bounced messages, since some may not be real addresses.

I highly recommend Benchmark Email (http://yourwebsiteengineer.com/benchmark) for email marketing. They have the best plugin out there for WordPress and I’ve interviewed the developers and the senior sales coordinator on previous podcast episodes:

Question from Radi
I have been reading a lot about wordpress SEO and some people say that it is better to use post then page, even for static content… (categories, tags, pings – all things that help rank a post better then a page)
What do you think about that? Should I use only post and not bother with pages?

Here what I have to say about using posts as pages.
