Add Two Blogs to One WordPress Installation

I have received this questions several times lately so I thought I would answer via video tutorial.

Is it possible to set up two blogs within one installation of WordPress?

Join me as I show you exactly how you can make this happen on your own WordPress website in this short video tutorial.

      Hi Dustin,

This was so helpful thank you. I have a question related to this. I have a category menu item called Newletter that will only collect posts with this category.

My main blog has a subscribe feature, but I want a separate subscription for my newsletter. The problem is that the Subscribe widget from the main blog also shows up in the Newsletter menu too. Any suggestions?

I would use a third party service, like MailChimp or Aweber for the newsletter. With either of those services, you can generate a widget box and I’d add that also to your widget area, so people can have the option of what to sign up for, either all your posts or your newsletter.

When you do this you get the category name as a title on top. How can you remove that?

The simplest way would be to hide it with CSS code. Otherwise you will need to modify your theme’s template files.
