Ozh’ Admin Drop Down Menu is a plugin that will turn the sidebar dashboard menu into a drop down menu from the top. This plugin would be great to use if you are operating on a small screen and would like to see more of the dashboard.

WordPress vs. Squarespace

Over the next few weeks we are going to dive into some of the other CMS’s that are out there to see how WordPress stacks up to the competition. We know that WordPress is popular as it powers more than 20% of the web, but is it the easiest to use?

Today we look at Squarespace. It’s an all in one platform where your monthly fee covers your hosting costs as well as your domain name.

Advantages

• Free 14 day trial without a credit card
• Templates for different genres, wedding, business, restaurants
• Previews of other sites using the theme, broken into genres
• Pages / posts are built up of blocks
• Getty images are built in

Brief questionnaire when starting:

• Will this be for personal or business use?
• Enter Site Title
• Enter Address to generate a map, with autocomplete

Two Big Disadvantages

• Can’t download Squarespace
• Their terms of service says that they own everything
