How to Create an Email Newsletter Autoresponder
Eric wrote in and was curious about how to set up a course that could automatically be published right away and how do send out a free ebook once the email address is captured. The answer is by using a newsletter autoresponder.
When you sign up for my free ebook, you will automatically receive a link to my pdf document that you can download at your convenience. That is set up by adding a link to your free content in the “Thank You” confirmation email.
If you wanted to send out something once a week for six weeks, then you can set up an autoresponder to email out a message exactly seven days after they first signed up and then every seven days after that!
Setting up an newsletter autoresponder is a great way to stay engaged with your audience, but without thinking about it.

Apr 25, 2012My question is in regards to the Mailchimp forms & response emails “Confirmation thank you page” you spoke about in episode 68. My site is http://www.allmarathontraining.com and on my top opt-in box I would like to make it so when a user entered their name and email it would take them to “Confirmation thank you page” I created in Mailchimp.
However it seems like Mailchimp will not allow you to create an embed htlm form using the “Confirmation thank you page. Is there anyway to get html embed code for the “Confirmation thank you page” I created and add it to the top opt in page on the top of my site?

I have created the ”Confirmation thank you page” with the link to my media (pdf file).What do I from this point? It did not seem like Mailchimp provided the embed html code for the thank you form? How do I take this thank you form and add it to my opt-in so Mailchimp can capture the first last and email of the subscriber?

Hi Dustin. I think I am close to solving my above question. I used the mailchimp widget which was a big help. Really my only questions now are
Apr 25, 2012-Did you use the mailchimp widget for your optin on your home page? I am trying to figure out how you customized the opt in widget (highlights, arrows, etc)?
-How did you get the media link for your eBook to appear in the email Mailchimp sends to confirm the subscribers email, yours reads Yes, subscribe me to this list and download my FREE eBook!? Mine will only appear after that email link is clicked and it takes the user the confirmation page with the link.

@Jtrd333 Actually, since I’ve released this post, I am using Benchmark Email for my email subscriber list.
Apr 26, 2012When I was using MailChimp, I did not use the MailChimp widget, because was too hard to style exactly the way I wanted to. I used the embed code from MailChimp then styled the form using HTML and CSS to make it look like it does now.
I think that the link “Yes, subscribe me…” is handled a little bit differently with Benchmark Email. Having the link in the thank you message is what I did when I was using MailChimp.
Sorry for the confusion. I had been a MailChimp user since 2009 and I really loved their service, then I learned about Benchmark and I saw more benefits to how I use a list by using there services.
