Benefits of WordPress
1. Purpose of a CMS

  • Keep content/data, design and functionality code separated and globalized
  • Empower the webmaster to make changes themselves with ease
  • Connect with current and future social media and other pre-built outlets
  • Inherit functionality that comes from the core and from the community extras

2. Joomla!

  • Next most popular (AlexaRank)
  • Powerful, very complex to navigate admin area, doesnʼt check for updates
  • Model View Controller code oriented

3. Drupal

  • Close third most popular
  • Powerful, reliable, more complex than WordPress to install / update / navigate
  • Concept of CCK versus WYSIWYG

4. Similarities

  • 1. All of these popular platforms are 90% the same. They are 5% different in terms of UI and 5% different in terms of PHP objects/methods.
