Exploring the Customize Area in WordPress 3.9

In today’s episode, I talk about the Customize Area, and area that is majorly overlooked in the WordPress Dashboard. Personally, I think the Customize Area will replace, submenus, Widgets, and Header.

  • Site Title & Tagline
    • Customize your Site Title and Tagline
  • Colors
    • Header Text Color
  • Header Image
    • Add a new Header Image
  • Static Front Page
    • Front page displays settings
      • Latest Posts
      • Static Page
  • Widgets
    • New widgets layout is now under Customize
    • Drag and Drop or Up and Down Arrows
    • You can quickly move between widget areas
    • Gone are the days of clicking / scrolling at the same time
    • And you can see everything in a live preview 🙂
  • Images
    • Favorite: Drag image right into the Visual Editor!
    • Galleries no longer have generic place holders
    • Want to resize an image? Drag the corner and resize
    • No more slide the image scale, up and down
    • All edit settings are on the same lightbox.
